Inside Out Faith is excited to announce a new chapter in its life as a foundation: we’ve hired an interim executive director!
Emmy Kegler brings a robust set of skills to this new role. As an author, Emmy has published two books, One Coin Found: How God’s Love Stretches to the Margins, and All Who Are Weary: Easing the Burden on the Walk with Mental Illness. As an ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Emmy served a Minneapolis congregation for six years and co-founded and -led an LGBTQIA+ worshipping community. Emmy launched and continues to maintain the Queer Grace Encyclopedia, a digital resource for LGBTQIA+ life and faith. And as a public speaker, Emmy has appeared at the Gay Christian Network / Q Christian Fellowship, the ELCA Youth Ministry Extravaganza, Why Christian, and Nevertheless She Preached.
As interim executive director of IOF, Emmy will be reviewing the foundation’s current organizational status, building a robust board of directors, designing and funding an operations budget, and working with founder Jennifer Knapp and many other leaders to assess the landscape of needs and gifts in the LGBTQIA+ spiritual community and envision how IOF can be part of connecting people and transforming the public conversation about LGBTQIA+ faith and life.
