There are a multitude of PRIDE prayers available for churches, ministries, and other faith spaces to use during June, either as part of a regular worship or in a Pride-specific space. To that joyful chorus the team at Inside Out Faith offers these prayers for use in intercessory prayers (sometimes called Prayers of the People), including prayers specifically written to echo the Scriptures chosen for the Revised Common Lectionary on June 22nd and 29th, 2025.
A general petition for use in Pride Month:
God of justice and joy, we give thanks for the radiant presence of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual people in the life of the church and the beauty of your diverse creation. On this Pride Sunday, we affirm their sacred worth and commit ourselves to creating a world where all can live openly in safety and love — especially our transgender and nonbinary siblings who face escalating injustice and violence. Strengthen us to be bold in love and unwavering in our advocacy for the life and flourishing of all your children.
A petition for use on Sunday June 22, 2025, based on Galatians 3:23-29, the epistle for the day:
God of boundless love, you have made us one in Christ, breaking down every barrier the world tries to build between us. On this PRIDE Sunday, we give thanks for the beautiful diversity of your creation, and we celebrate the sacred worth of every child of God, especially your children who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, or otherwise part of the wide expanse of gender identity and sexuality. Empower us to proclaim your Word, Jesus Christ, who casts out division and draws us into unity, compassion, and love for all.
For use on Sunday June 29, 2025, based on Galatians 5:13-25, the epistle for the day:
Gracious God, lead us away from choices that divide and harm, and guide us into lives marked by the fruit of your Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and faithfulness. Help us to embrace one another fully, recognizing the sacred dignity in every human being. May your Spirit move us to build communities of welcome and compassion, reflecting your boundless grace.
For use on Sunday June 29, 2025, based on Luke 9:51-62, the gospel for the day:
Christ Jesus, you set your face toward justice and love even when the road was hard. Call us to follow you with courage and conviction. As we honor PRIDE Sunday, help us to walk boldly alongside our LGBTQIA+ siblings, refusing to turn back or be silent in the face of hatred or exclusion. May we proclaim with all our lives that the kingdom of God is one of radical welcome, affirmation, and liberation for all.
